Meet Mochi, the Cat Character in Pocket Friend
Meet Mochi, the cat character in Pocket Friend. Explore pet care, expressions, and widgets in the Codiosity game preview, currently in development.
Mochi is the little cream-colored cat character in Pocket Friend, a virtual pet and card game by Codiosity that is still in development. Inside it, you meet Mochi as an egg hatches, offer food, play, clean your pet, and discover reactions to being petted.
This introduction takes a closer look at Mochi’s home and care routine: the three needs bars, changing expressions, and actions during a short visit. It reflects the preview on October 20, 2026, while release information is still to come.
Your first meeting starts with an egg
Before seeing Mochi at home, you receive an egg with a hatching countdown. Changes to the egg form part of that first introduction. Once it hatches, Mochi appears in the room, and three main needs help you understand how your pet is doing.
The charm comes from small details: seeing the same cat in different poses, noticing a response to care, and gradually recognizing expressions. Home becomes a place to check in on Mochi between other parts of the game.
Read three needs: fullness, happiness, and cleanliness
The three bars at home give you clues when choosing a care action. Look at which need is low, then choose something that fits:
- Fullness: Feed helps when Mochi is hungry. Check how full your pet is before offering more food.
- Happiness: Play gives Mochi an activity and a playful response. Repeated activity can also make your pet tired.
- Cleanliness: Clean looks after Mochi’s cleanliness, with a response showing your pet being cleaned.
For example, if cleanliness is lower and Mochi looks dirty, start with Clean and watch how things change. When your pet is already full, another feed can lead to a short sleep. Let the current clues guide your choice of action.
Mochi’s expressions help tell the story
Mochi can look happy, relaxed, hungry, bored, dirty, tired, or sleepy. Expressions and short messages give the needs bars some context. If your pet looks tired after playing, leave time for a rest; if Mochi looks dirty, check cleanliness.
Petting has its own reactions, too. A few taps can bring a happy response. Too many taps in a row, or a press held for too long, can make Mochi look grumpy. These details give the reactions character and encourage you to notice what happens after each interaction.
Try a short routine when visiting home
- 01Read Mochi’s expression and the three bars first, then decide which need to care for.
- 02Choose one action, wait for the response, and see whether your pet’s condition changes.
- 03When Mochi is comfortable or needs a rest, finish the care session and carry on with your day.
This sequence helps you recognize the connection between an action and Mochi’s response. On another visit, start by reading your pet’s condition again. The current game preview uses Indonesian text, including the needs labels and care buttons.
Mochi on Android home-screen widgets
The Android preview also includes home-screen widgets. The small size offers Feed, while the medium size has Feed, Play, and Bathe actions. Before hatching, the widget shows the egg and its countdown. This compact view brings part of Mochi’s routine to the home screen.
Device support and the final appearance will follow Android testing and release information. This widget introduction describes a feature being developed alongside Pocket Friend.
Other parts of Pocket Friend’s world
Pocket Friend also includes photo cards and Duel Meja. In the October 20 preview, photo cards receive automatic names; duels use a 20-card deck, four elemental ground lanes, and Creature, Spell, and Building cards. You can play a bot or take turns with two players on one device, with the second player using a demo deck. Friendship features remain a local demo.
